BillionWatts assists customers in inplementing the DREAMS system PV Projects. located in Kaohsiung, Yanchao Dist.
BillionWatts’ exclusive Pixel View 4.0 cloud monitoring system officially announced that it passed Taipower’s DREAMS certification. BillionWatts becomes the only solution provider in Taiwan whose PV Gateway (SG6400NZL) monitoring equipment and cloud monitoring system both passed the Taipower’s certification. Moreover, Pixel View 4.0 collects power generation information through the solar system gateway (PV-Gateway) and complies with the DNP3.0 communication protocol format stipulated by Taipower. It monitors nearly 840 PV project sites with a total capacity of more than 450MWp.
Taipower recently announced that a single PV site with an installed capacity of 500KW or more must be equipped with a DREAMS monitoring mechanism and accept Taipower's dispatch. The SG6300NZL R2, developed by BillionWatts, and based on "Taipower’s Distributed Renewable Energy Monitoring Equipment-Cloud Data System Test and Management Specifications", utilizes AES128 encryption technology to transmit power generation data at the site, officially passed the information security certification of the TELECOM Technology Center. During the development process, in addition to overcoming the information security problems of hardware devices, at least 25 comprehensive inspections must be conducted on cloud system security, communication security, and identity authentication. The information security assessment process is rigorous. The SG6300NZL R2 comprehensively improves and strengthens the service system to a whole new level. From construction and installation to completion, customers are ensured with the highest specifications standards in the industry.
BillionWatts has passed layers of Taipower's extensive information security authentication, becoming Taiwan’s first and only solution provider whose hardware and software have both passed TPC’s certification. Elaine Chen, who has been deeply involved in the solar monitoring industry for many years, said that the "Solar AIoT Monitoring System" developed by BillionWatts’ Software Team, has monitoring items ranging from the series/parallel status and the temperature of solar modules to the performance of inverters, the conversion efficiency of the entire unit substation, and the distribution board IO point. All these front-end data will be collected and processed through the network and then uploaded to the cloud platform. Pixel View 4.0 can also implement functions such as failure analysis, fault diagnosis, power generation forecast, and intelligent dispatch through complex AI algorithms to perform preventive abnormal maintenance services and improve the overall efficiency of staff allocation; that only one set of equipment is needed for satisfying all the monitoring demands of solar power plants. With a comprehensive software interface, Pixel View 4.0 is suitable for every site, and the authority level can be set up differently according to needs.
Due to the Taiwan government's green policy, more and more solar power plants will be connected to the grid. A huge number of distributed power sites will be connected to Taipower's Distributed Renewable Energy Advanced Management System (DREAMS) in the future. The power generation data will be sent back to Taipower in real time to maintain the grid system's stability and enhance intelligent dispatching. This certification not only represents BillionWatts’ quality commitment to customers but also demonstrates the excellent performance of BillionWatts’ core technology and system solutions. For customers, Pixel View 4.0 supports more than 100 types of inverters and meters. As long as this solar cloud monitoring platform is used, there is no need to add additional hardware and engineering; data transmission and connection with Taipower can be carried out directly. BillionWatts greatly saves customers’ time and cost in purchasing additional equipment.
Vice President Chen further explained that it is not difficult to develop a software system, but only through years of experience in on-site monitoring data collection and problem-solving process, as well as user feedback and all operational data must be fully presented can BillionWatts create this system that meets the demands of the solar energy industry and investors. Pixel View 4.0 integrates IEC 61850 SCADA with the monitoring of unit substations and booster stations. The same system can serve power stations from distribution to transmission levels. Several listed companies in Taiwan, domestic and foreign enterprise-level renewable energy entities are BillionWatts’ systems users.
Looking forward to the future, BillionWatts will continue to integrate the research and development of energy creation, saving, storage, and intelligent systems with digital smart grids to help steady Taiwan's renewable energy development and to cooperate with the government to achieve stable power supply target with a 20% share of renewable energy power generation in 2025.
